Bakersfeld, CA (July 25th, 2024) – Famoso Dragstrip is excited to announce the finalized race classes for this year’s California Hot Rod Reunion, featuring some thrilling updates to traditional classes such as AA/Fuel Altered and Pro Mod. In addition to the electrifying Nitro Burning Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars, as well as all NHRA Heritage Series Group 1 and 2 classes and AFX, the Fuel Altered class is now open to all AA/Fuel Altereds. Previously, this class was an “Invite Only” closed field, but now any nitro-burning AA/Fuel Altered can compete. This inclusive change is expected to significantly increase the car count in the AA/Fuel Altered class, showcasing a diverse
range of vehicles, from short wheelbase to long wheelbase, and everything in between. Another exciting update is the restructuring of the Pro Modifed Class. The Reunion will now feature two distinct “Door Slammer” classes: the traditional steel body door cars of the West Coast Outlaw Association and the more contemporary, highly modified, Extreme Pro Mods West. More information on these classes will be available soon, promising an exhilarating experience for Door Slammer fans.
The 2024 California Hot Rod Reunion officially kicks of on Friday, October 25th, and runs through Sunday, October 27th.
Fans who purchase a Full Event – Three Day Ticket will also have the exclusive opportunity to attend Thursday’s Test and Tune Session for free.
The 2024 California Hot Rod Reunion is produced by Famoso Dragstrip and will benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum.
