Famoso Dragstrip is proud to debut the LOCKED-IN Drag Racing Series, a three-round championship delivering structured weekends, consistent formats, and real payouts—all at the legendary Bakersfield venue.


2025 Series Schedule

  • Round 1: June 21–22

  • Round 2: August 30–31 (Night Event)

  • Round 3: November 8–9

  • Box Bracket – 1/8 Mile

  • No Box Bracket – 1/4 Mile

  • Real Steel – 1/8 Mile

Box Bracket

1/8 Mile | 4.40 to 7.99 ET | Electronics Allowed

  1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See General Regulations 9:1

  2. Data Recorders: Permitted. Refer to General Regulations 9:2 and 9:10

  3. Delay Boxes: Permitted. One box/device only, attached to transbrake and/or throttle timer. Wiring must be clearly identifiable for inspection. Refer to 2016 NHRA Rulebook

  4. Transbrake: Permitted

  5. Line Lock: Four-wheel line lock permitted

  6. Automated Shifter: Permitted

  7. Throttle Control: Permitted per NHRA Rulebook

  8. Ignition:

    • Stutter boxes prohibited

    • Starting line and “high side” rev limiters permitted

    • RPM-limiting devices are legal if not used as down-track controllers

  9. Switches & Buttons: Must be NHRA-accepted mechanical connection types. Non-mechanical switches (e.g., infrared, retinal scan) prohibited

No Box Bracket

1/4 Mile | 9.00 to 13.99 ET | No Electronics

  1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See General Regulations 9:1

  2. Data Recorders: Prohibited. Refer to General Regulations 9:2 and 9:10

  3. Delay Boxes: Prohibited and must be removed from cars

  4. Transbrake: Permitted

  5. Line Lock: Four-wheel line lock permitted

  6. Automated Shifter: Permitted

  7. Throttle Control: Must be manually operated by the driver. No electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or other devices may affect throttle operation. A deadstop under carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers and counters are prohibited

  8. Ignition:

    • Stutter boxes prohibited

    • Starting line and “high side” rev limiters permitted

    • RPM-limiting devices are legal if not used as down-track controllers

  9. Switches & Buttons: Must be NHRA-accepted mechanical connection types. Non-mechanical switches (e.g., infrared, retinal scan) prohibited

  10. Tow Vehicles: Prohibited

AFX

1/8 Mile | Index Racing | Nostalgia Factory Experimental

  1. Vehicle Eligibility: 1960–1969 full-bodied nostalgia race cars with period-correct appearance and graphics (car name required).

  2. Body & Scoop: One period-correct hood scoop allowed, max 5″ height. No pro stock scoops, cowl induction, or wings.

  3. Engine: Big block required unless otherwise approved. Refer to official ANW index chart for approved combinations.

  4. Start System: .400 Pro Tree, handicap based on index
  5. Qualifying: All cars must record a valid ET to qualify. Ladders based on ET.

  6. Tech: Must pass NHRA and ANW inspection

Motorcycle

1/8 Mile | 7.50 (4.50) Seconds & Slower | E.T. Dial-In

  1. Vehicle Type: Two-wheel motorcycles only. OEM Can-Am Spyders allowed; all other three-wheelers prohibited.

  2. Engine: Stock-type motorcycle or snowmobile engines permitted. No auto, aircraft, or marine engines.

  3. Power Adders: Nitrous, turbo, and superchargers permitted. No external bottle heating.

  4. Electronics: OEM computers only. Data loggers OK. Stutter boxes and down-track rpm control prohibited.

  5. Controls: Snap-back throttle required. Foot-operated shifting only. Feet must stay on pegs after launch.

  6. Brakes/Suspension: Front and rear brakes required. Min. 1.5″ front suspension travel.

  7. Safety: Taillight and ignition tether required 10.99 (6.99) and quicker.

  8. Rider Gear: NHRA license required 9.99 (6.39) and quicker. Leather or SFI gear, gloves, boots, and Snell/FIA helmet mandatory.


Advanced E.T. Motorcycles (6.00–7.49 / 3.66–4.49) must meet these same rules with stricter brake specs and NHRA Class 2, Type D license.

Real Steel

1/8 Mile | No-Time | Heads-Up

  1. Body: OEM steel shell, steel doors, and steel fenders required. Factory fiberglass allowed only if OEM (e.g., Corvette, Camaro).

  2. Panels: Hood, bumpers, deck lid, and trunk may be carbon or fiberglass.

  3. Glass & Lights: OEM side door and 1/4 windows required. Working street-legal head/tail lights only—no fake or airbrushed versions.

  4. Interior: Factory-appearing dash required (carbon/fiberglass OK).

  5. Chassis: No full tube chassis. Wheelbase must be within 1″ of factory spec.

  6. Engine:

    • Small Block: Max 4.400 bore space

    • Big Block: Max 4.84 or 4.90 bore space

    • No billet heads or billet blocks allowed

  7. Tires: Rear 15″ or 17″ radial drag tires only

    • 15″: Max 275 radial or 28×10.5×15 bracket radial

    • 17″: Max 315 radial or 29.5×10.5-17 bracket radial

    • No bias-ply slicks or hard tires

  8. Wheelie Bars: Prohibited

  9. Timing: No-Time. Scoreboards OFF
